Boston @ NYI

Congratulations goes to the Boston Bruins for clinching a play off on Friday, even with out a Puck being hit. Boston clinched it as the Sabres lost to Penguins. 

It felt more like a home game rather than a away game in Long Island with seeing a lot of Black and Gold jersey's. Patrice Bergeron won the opening draw and got Game 78 on the way. The 1st 17-18 minutes of the  game, both teams  were pretty evenly tied, Score tied at 0-0. But on 18:11 minutes gone Boston broke the dead lock. David Krejci with a snapshot went past Al Montoya and into the Isles Net to score his 22nd goal of the season. Milan Lucic with his 33rd assist of the season, he was the one who passed it to David Krejci. Andrew Ference with his 18th assist of the season. But Boston's lead did not last long as the Isles equalized within a minute. Kyle Okposo with a wrist shot went past Marty Turco and into Boston's net to score his 21st of the season.Frans Nielsen with his 27th of the season and Travis Hamonic with his 21st of the season. The horn sounds to end a pretty evenly 1st period at 1-1 and shots on goal are even at 7-7. 

Both teams are back on the ice for the 2nd period. Isles took control of the faceoff. On the 3rd minute Gregory Campbell was not happy with a push on the back from Michael Haley. The 2 players dropped the gloves and had a few punches were thrown, but Michael Haley with the takedown finished it off. Both Michael Haley and Gregory Campbell to the box for a fighting major, 5 minutes for both players. Boston's best player so far has to go to Chris Kelly. Chris Kelly with a wrist shot, goes past Al Montoya and into the Isles net to score his 20th goal of the season. Boston leads the Isles 2-1 with 15 minutes left in the 2nd. Zdeno Chara was barking instructions  from the Boston's Bench as to waken the team up, but give Isles' credit they had pride on the line, and they came out to play. On the 15th minute P.A Parenteau ties the game up 2-2 with his 17th of the season. John Tavares with his 45th assist of the season and Matt Moulson with his 31st of the season. With 04:40 left in the 2nd Boston's Marty Turco got a tripping call, but with Marty Turco being a Goaltender, the Penalty was served by Shawn Thornton, he went to the box for 2 minutes. The Isles power play is tied in 6th with a 19.3% and Boston's penalty kill is tied in 10th with a 83.4%. Boston managed to kill of the Isles PP but with 56.3 seconds left in the period Boston's David Krejci goes to the box for a slashing call. The horn sounds to end the 2nd. Score still tied at 2-2, with Isles having 16 shots on goal to Boston's 14. Boston will start the final period shorthanded. 

Both teams are back on the ice for the final period of the night. Boston manages to kill the Isles PP at the start of the period. In the 4th minute Brad Marchand with a wrist shot, past Al Montoya and into the Isles net. Tyler Seguin with his 36th assist of the season and Zdeno Chara with his 38th of the season. Boston are 3-2 up with 16:43 left in regulation. Boston really turned the heat up in the 3rd. In the 12th minute Tyler Seguin with a wrist shot, to put the puck into Isles net. Patrice Bergeron with his 39th assist of his season and Brad Marchand with his 25th assist of the season. Boston are 4-2 and the Isles looked a little dejected by now. With 12:02 gone in the final period Boston goes on a PP, as Mark Streit goes to the box for a delay of the game, as he puts the puck over the glass, he gets 2 minutes. A really good PK for Isles, as the PK finished, Isles P.A Parenteau with a wrist shot to put the puck past Marty Turco and into Boston's net to score his 18th of the season and his 2nd of the game. John Tavares with his 46th assist of the season and Matt Moulson with his 32nd, both players with their 2nd of the game. Isles bring the score to within 1 to make it 4-3 Boston with 5:07 left in the regulation. Boston is slightly ahead on the Shots on goal 23-20. With 3:41 left Boston stretched the lead again.Boston's Alternative Captain Patrice Bergeron with a wrist shot, to put the puck past Al Montoya and into the Isles net to score his 21st goal of the season. Nice play by both Tyler Seguin and Brad Marchand for the set up. Tyler Seguin with his 37th assist of the season and Brad Marchand with his 26th assist of the season, and both their 2nd of the game.Within 24 seconds Boston scores again to make it 6-3. David Krejci with a wrist shot to put the puck past Al Montoya and into the Isles net to score his 23rd goal of the season and his 2nd of the game. Milan Lucic with his 34th assist of the season and his 2nd of the game and Zdeno Chara with his 39th assist of the season and his 2nd of the game.   With seconds left in the regulation Marty Turco's turn to shine as he double saved a Michael Grabner's shot. The Horn sounds to end the regulation and the game. Boston win's the game 6-3

Sunday night see's Boston take on NY Rangers in Madison Square Gardens where Boston is looking to clinch the North East Division for the 2nd straight season.
